Marshall P. Madison Lecture: Human Rights in the Global Economy

Join us for a discussion between Amol Mehra ’09, managing director of North America for The Freedom Fund, and Professor Connie de la Vega about the state of human rights and the global economy. From Amazon to Zara, corporations yield incredible influence in shaping the laws, policies, and practices of societies. The foundations of human rights rest upon governments implementing domestically their commitments under international law. But what happens to human rights when governments cede policy making and enforcement space? Let’s find out as we explore the challenges and opportunities to advance human rights in a globalized world.
